Port Captaincy Services

Preparation of Pre-Stow plan

Pre-Stow plan is prepared at the planning stage itself which will help in identifying the correct vessel for the intended trade, maximizing cargo intake, maximizing hooks for load and discharge ports. Safe stowage in view of tank-top density and or class requirements can be planned and executed to avoid conflicts and unwanted delays for vessel in port.

Pre Arrival Preparations

Carry out inspection of cargo if required prior loading. Make necessary arrangements for LSD or any other requirements from charterers /owners Liaison with shippers, shipper’s agents, vessel’s agents, stevedores etc for documentation and readiness of cargo for loading.

Loading Operations

To co-ordinate and interface between all stake holders involved Expedite loading operations by reducing all unwanted delays and by close supervision. Documentation/communication to protect principal’s interest in all operational aspects of vessel in port (Delays, detentions, claims, cargo condition etc.) Daily reports to client on vessel’s performance

Bunker Survey – On/Off Hire & Condition Survey

Bunker quantity surveys as per specific requirements. A detailed inspection of vessels cargo holds, deck spaces, machinery, cargo gear and vessels records/certificates etc. as part of Condition Survey

Pipes of various dimensions

  • Effective planning and monitoring is needed to maximize the intake of cargo, safe loading and securing of cargo.
  • Epoxy or 3PE coated pipes need to be handled carefully to avoid coating damages to pipes
  • Use of dunnage for chocking is a major expense while loading pipes. With effective planning and monitoring, this could be reduced to safe minimum.

Steel Products

  • Exact assessment of permissible highs for HR and CR coils with actual tank top strength, dimensions and in consultation with class requirements for the vessel being loaded
  • Effective utilization of space and maximizing cargo intake
  • Prepare clear lashing/dunnaging plan prior to commencement of loading and effective monitoring.

Grain & Bagged cargo

  • Inspection of Cargo Holds along with other stake holders for grain readiness, Expedite additional cleaning if required.
  • Continuous monitoring of surveyors to ensure effective quality control.
  • Effective utilization of space and maximizing cargo intake
  • To monitor all dunnage supplies and usage of same on board.
